The venue hosts multiple events each year, most notably the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup (January–February) — an international competition drawing significant crowds. The atmosphere of a Zakopane World Cup event, with its Polish crowd, winter setting and the scale of the jump visible from the lower hillside, is one of the more atmospheric sporting experiences in Central Europe.

Sylwester pod Krokwią (December 31) is a New Year's Eve celebration held at the foot of the jump, drawing tens of thousands of people for concerts, fireworks, and the midnight countdown. Polish Championships and training events also run throughout the skiing season.

History

Poland's most famous ski jumping facility — a K120 (HS134) hill used for FIS World Cup competitions since 1929. The jump tower is visible from much of central Zakopane and from the surrounding hills, and has become one of the town's defining visual landmarks alongside the Giewont silhouette.

What to expect

The jump tower and surrounding area can be viewed from the public access road and hillside during non-competition periods.

During competitions, ticketed seating is available on the hillside — the natural amphitheatre formation of the terrain means most positions have good sight lines to the landing slope. Tickets sell quickly for World Cup rounds.

The hillside above the jump tower provides one of the better views of Zakopane and the Tatras available from the town level — a local's viewpoint rather than a tourist-facing attraction. A walk up from the facility base takes 20–30 minutes on marked paths.

Insider tips

If a World Cup event is scheduled during your visit, attend regardless of ski jumping familiarity. The crowd atmosphere — Polish nationals, the outdoor winter setting, the technical spectacle of 100+ metre jumps — is worth an afternoon even for non-sports visitors. Buy tickets online as soon as dates are confirmed.
