Visit Zakopane
By Tymoteusz Mróz

Visit Zakopane is an English-language travel guide for international visitors planning trips to Zakopane and the Tatra Mountains. The people reading it are not browsing casually — they're in planning mode. They're comparing hotels, looking for restaurant recommendations, researching which trails to hike. They're going to spend money in Zakopane, and they're trying to decide where.

Visitor profile:

  • English-speaking tourists: primarily UK, US, Germany, Israel, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and other EU markets
  • Travel intent: active planning phase, typically 2–8 weeks before arrival
  • Spending profile: mid-range to comfort travelers (budget backpackers use different sources; this site skews toward people who book hotels, not hostels)
  • Activities: hiking, skiing, wellness, cultural tourism — in that order

Why Visibility Here Is Different

Booking.com and Google Ads are pay-to-play auctions. You're competing with every other property in Poland for a slot, and the algorithm decides who wins. Price is the dominant factor.

Visit Zakopane is editorially curated. When a visitor reads a recommendation on this site, they trust it's coming from someone who knows Zakopane — not an algorithm. That's a different kind of attention.

When this channel makes sense for your business:

  • You're specifically targeting English-speaking international tourists (not Polish domestic visitors)
  • You want sustained visibility over a season, not a one-off ad campaign
  • You want your business presented in context — "where to eat after hiking Morskie Oko" rather than a generic listing

When you should also use other channels: We're honest about this. Booking.com and Google are critical for general visibility. This site complements those channels; it doesn't replace them. For international tourists specifically, editorial placement on a trusted local guide reaches people at a different point in their decision process.

How Partnerships Work

Editorial independence is non-negotiable. Sponsorship buys placement and visibility — not positive content. If your restaurant serves mediocre food, a sponsorship won't change the editorial assessment. What it changes is whether you appear at the top of the category listing or below non-sponsored entries.

This is a feature, not a limitation. Visitors trust this site precisely because they know recommendations haven't been paid for. A "Sponsored" badge alongside your listing signals prominence, not falsification.

All sponsored content is clearly labeled. There are no hidden placements.

  • Sidebar banner placement in your category
  • Mention in relevant itineraries where naturally appropriate (disclosed)
  • Priority map placement
  • Seasonal highlight features (Christmas, ski season, summer hiking — your business featured in context)

Pricing Comparison

  • Basic — Monthly (net): 300 PLN; 12-month contract: 3,000 PLN; Saving: 2 months free
  • Featured — Monthly (net): 500 PLN; 12-month contract: 5,000 PLN; Saving: 2 months free
  • Premium — Monthly (net): 1,500 PLN; 12-month contract: 15,000 PLN; Saving: 2 months free

All prices are net; 23% VAT is added to advertising, promotional and partnership services.

A 12-month contract is charged at the 10-month rate — two months free. Monthly billing is also available with no long-term commitment: you can cancel at any time with effect from the end of the current month. Settlement terms for prepaid annual packages are set out in the contract.

Editorial Integrity: Specific Rules

For full transparency, here's exactly what sponsorship does and doesn't affect:

Sponsorship DOES:

  • Move your listing to the top of your category (Featured and above)
  • Increase the amount of content about your business
  • Give you access to hub page placements
  • Allow a quarterly sponsored article (Premium)

Sponsorship DOES NOT:

  • Change the editorial content of any existing article about your business
  • Remove negative mentions if they exist
  • Prevent future honest assessment in editorial content
  • Guarantee mention in editorial itineraries or guides (these are editorial decisions, not purchased placements — Premium gives access to "where naturally appropriate")

If you're looking to buy a positive review, this is the wrong partnership. If you're looking for honest, prominent visibility to a relevant audience, this works.

Practical Details

Payment: Bank transfer against a VAT invoice.

VAT: VAT invoices are issued. Standard rate of 23% VAT applies to advertising, promotional and partnership services.

Invoicing: Monthly or annual invoices issued for accounting purposes.

Cancellation: You can cancel at any time, with effect from the end of the current month. Settlement of prepaid annual packages is governed by the contract.

Onboarding: After signing up you'll receive a short questionnaire covering business details, photos and your "why choose us" copy. Publication follows within 5 working days of receiving the complete materials, approved copy and payment. Expedited publication is available as a separate service.

Free editorial inclusion: Any legitimate Zakopane business can be reviewed and listed editorially at no charge. Sponsorship is about placement and depth, not access. If your business isn't listed yet, email us and we'll add it.

What if I cancel after one month?

No penalty. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current month. Your listing reverts to standard (non-sponsored) placement, and your business remains editorially listed at no charge.

Can I change tiers?

Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades at the next billing date.

Do you write the content for my listing?

For Featured and Premium tiers, yes — we write the expanded content based on information you provide. Basic tier content is factual (hours, address, contact) edited by us.

What payment methods do you accept?

Bank transfer against a VAT invoice.

Will I get an invoice for my accountant?

Yes. A VAT invoice is issued for each billing period.

Can I see traffic data?

As the site grows, aggregate audience data will be shared with partners. We don’t share individual user data.

My business has a complicated situation — can we discuss?

Yes. Email hello@visit.zakopane.pl and we’ll find a solution.

A Note on Language

This page is the English-language summary. The full rate card, cooperation terms and commercial-content labelling policy are prepared in Polish, since partners are primarily Polish businesses. Ask for the Polish documents when you get in touch.
